Tenero is known for its stunning location at the northern tip of Lake Maggiore and its rich natural landscapes, which include rolling hills, vineyards, and proximity to the Swiss Alps. The new residential complex, Residenza Ai Fiori, is designed to prioritise inclusivity, accessibility, and well-being. LAND was in charge to create lush gardens, welcoming public areas, and seamless connections with the surrounding urban landscape.
Our project includes a series of carefully crafted green spaces and expanded pedestrian pathways, creating inviting entry points to the neighbourhood and enhancing the synergy with Via San Gottardo and the nearby bus stop. This strengthens the character of Via San Gottardo as a vital corridor in Tenero, offering additional public spaces and social gathering areas along the main street, enhancing the town’s sense of place and community connectivity.
Sustainability and urban climate improvement are key elements of the design. Permeable surfaces, extensive green areas, and mature trees help mitigate the urban heat island effect, increase water infiltration, and boost local biodiversity. These features foster a stronger connection between people and nature, improving environmental health and creating a more liveable space for residents and the wider community.
