LAND on the winning team for the design of the Cremona Hospital
Mario Cucinella Architects was awarded first place with a futuristic architectural facility, to which LAND contributed with a landscape design under the banner of cutting-edge sustainability.
A delegation from LAND, led by our CEO and co-founder Andreas Kipar and architect Ottavia Franzini, attended yesterday afternoon’s award ceremony for the new Cremona Hospital in the presence of regional and city authorities and local health institutions.
First place was awarded to Mario Cucinella Architects, who are ready to start the construction site that will see completion in 2030. A futuristic architectural facility, to which LAND contributed with a landscape design under the banner of cutting-edge sustainability, thanks to ecological corridors that recall the surrounding area and an innovative health area dedicated to recreational and motor activities.
The hospital will rise on the border between the city and the countryside. It will place Nature at its centre: a public park with a green heart, capable of generating a microclimate that will help lower the temperature by 4 degrees to mitigate the heat island effect. The structure will be a city within a city, an iconic and identifying place created to become a reference point for the entire Cremonese community.
