LAND at the Pratt Institute, NYC
LAND participates at the symposium "Public Space Challenges: From Theory to Practice to Policy," Pratt Institute NYC.
The workshop of the Public Space Academy in New York City, hosted by Pratt Institute, is part of the international symposium “Public Space Challenges: From Theory to Practice to Policy”, which will be held at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn Campus, on April 25-27 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of City Space Architecture, headed by its president, Luisa Bravo.
This symposium, drawing on previous collaborations with the Pratt Institute, Urban Placemaking and Management, is an opportunity to present City Space Architecture’s work with high-profile experts, including LAND Canada General Manager Valeria Pagliaro.
We all know that public space is a crucial element for sustainable urban development, so what better occasion to propose the workshop “Anatomy of Public Space. Do you know your urban body?” to an American audience, taking on the research project “Anatomy of Public Space: A Multidisciplinary Perspective”, a collaborative effort involving Park Plus, LAND Research Lab, and Fondazione Transform Transport ETS.
This inclusive initiative, first presented in May 2023, explores public spaces through the integrated viewpoints of architecture, landscape, and mobility, aiming to craft a comprehensive understanding of public spaces in modern cities. Along with Luisa Bravo and Valeria Pagliaro, there will be Federico Messa, Senior Researcher at Fondazione Transform Transport ETS and Senior Consultant at Systematica.
