LAND and The Italian Lab present IL SALOTTO MILANESE
The 'Salotto Milanese' is the capsule collection resulting from the collaboration between LAND and The Italian Lab, a well-known street furniture company from Veneto.
The new collection responds to the challenge launched by the Milan Design Week 2023 with urban elements of iconic and sustainable design.
Urban furniture that stems from the reflection of “what will the Milan of the future be like? Will it be a factory of new ideas and creativity, a machine that breathes and evolves ceaselessly? Let yourself be transported to the heart of innovation with a Milanese yet global character, with a glance at the past and a horizon open to the future. The new capsule collection – signed LAND with The Italian Lab – invites you to take a seat in the Salotto, a new dimension at once domestic and urban, to take a breath, meet or simply contemplate the changing times.”
In line with LAND’s ‘Reconnecting people with nature’ mission, the ‘Salotto Milanese’ (salotto means living room in Italian) blends aspects of urban mining, craftsmanship and design for a unique outdoor experience. Therefore, particular attention has been paid to material choices to favour innovative, recycled, recyclable, durable, and resistant materials to reduce the collection’s environmental impact as much as possible. The primary materials used are coloured cement with recycled aggregates and recycled plastic; the former is a material of high durability and resistance, made from local raw materials and waste aggregates. The latter contributes sustainably to circular economy processes by valorising and reusing plastic industry residues.
“A line born out of the fervour of the city of Milan, which aims to reactivate public space through sociality and being, taking inspiration from tradition and revisiting the iconic design elements that characterise Milan’s public space. What are you waiting for? Come and take a seat in the living room!”
You can get the vibes in the great video done by Tommaso Gorani who also made the photographs of the project.
