“We need a new kind of nature, a new relationship with urban soil and biodiversity, because we feel connected to nature when it is all around us, not just in parks, gardens and boulevards but in open free public spaces. We have so much asphalt we don’t use. We understood that – after two years of the pandemic – immersive nature in cities is the radical choice we need. Citizens are looking for greener spaces where they can reconnect with nature in a new sense of belonging.
There is hope for the future: the UN Nations established Natural Capital Accounting. A new mission, to be translated street by street. That can be a new part of our story, for nature is something we need day by day.
