Urban Biodiversity Mapping
LAND Research Lab, in collaboration with the Polifactory team from Politecnico di Milano and wildlife experts from Studio TerraViva, conducted the T-Factor project in Milan Innovation District (2021 to 2023) to address climate change and biodiversity loss in urban areas by integrating nature-centric design principles.
The project aimed to identify and map the environmental, cultural, and social values of urban biodiversity to assist decision-makers in implementing conservation strategies aligned with the European Commission’s Biodiversity Strategy 2030 and the European Council’s objectives.
Culture
Communication, in particular raising public awareness, is an important part of resilient processes. News, publications (LANDmagazine) and exhibition areas such as La Wunderkammer seek to establish and maintain contacts. The focus is on people and their needs.
